eMatrix™ Sublative Rejuvenation
eMatrix is the world's first radio-frequency (RF) sublative skin rejuvenating system. eMatrix is designed to fill the gap between non-aggressive therapies that have minimal benefits and more aggressive therapies that have excessive down-times. eMatrix utilises a grid of RF pulses to penetrate through the skin, delivering energy beneath the surface to stimulate new collagen production whilst leaving the skin's surface relatively intact.

What does an eMatrix treatment involve?
The eMatrix device allows for customisation of the depth of ablation and degree of resurfacing depending on your skin condition. Dr Forrester will choose the appropriate treatment program after assessing your skin type and condition. During treatment most patients will experience a warm pricking sensation. Anaesthetic cream may be applied to the treatment area 30-45mins beforehand to ensure that the procedure is comfortable. The eMatrix treatment itself usually takes less than 30mins.
What will I notice immediately afterwards?
The treated area will look like mild sunburn for up to 48 hours. Over the next few days as the redness subsides you may be left with grids of red pin-pricks that will slowly fade to brown and then disappear. Do not be concerned if there are gaps between the grids; these will not affect a successful outcome. One of the big advantages of eMatrix over some other ablative treatments is that immediately afterwards it may be covered with tinted creams and cover-up.
When will I begin to see the results?
Initially your skin may look refreshed and firmer. However the main benefits of eMatrix will develop gradually over the next 6-8 weeks as new collagen is produced.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments depends on your initial skin condition and the problem being addressed but is typically 1-3 treatment sessions at 4-6 week intervals.
How long will the results last?
Since RF treatment triggers collagen production and tissue remodelling of the dermal matrix improvements may continue for up to a year from the last session resulting in a gradual and long-lasting enhancement.
How can I enhance the results of eMatrix?
Because eMatrix stimulates new collagen production it is also helpful to use collagen-stimulating antioxidants such as topical vitamin C and retinoids. Dr Forrester will advise on suitable products to use at the same time as your eMatrix treatment.
